Comment: Ken, what a brave man you are. Your son, I bet he is so proud of his daddy. Als is a terrible disease. I know what you are going through. I never knew what ALS was until my 38 year old son was dx with this terrible disease on March 29, 2006. Let me put it this way ken, I died on that day. The news were so devastating, I wanted to die. I have not had a good day since. I am sad all the time. I still cry a lot, but not in front of my son. My son is a very strong person. I feel so bad for him. Your son, bless his heart. I will be praying for you both. I pray for my son all the time, you can count you and your son will be included from now on. My son has a 7 year old, and he is spending as much time with him as he can.My son had a feeding tube inserted about 5 or 6 mos after dx. He has lost his speech, he communicates via laptop looking machine. He has a breathing machine, and 2 wheel chairs. I never thought that I was going to watch my son getting around in a wheel chair.

You have a lot of friends at the Cape that are just waiting to know how they can be there for you. they'll all be so glad to see you the day of the tournament. I too have been blessed with one of God's greatest gifts, a son that loves me unconditional and it is the most wonderful feeling. your strength and love of life will be passed along through Kenny and we'll always be here for him too.
